Founded on 19 April 2019 in Guizhou, China, the Asia Tea Alliance is a confederation of national tea associations and boards from across major tea-producing and consuming countries in Asia. By pooling expertise, resources and influence, we work to strengthen the Asian tea industry for the 21st century.
A vibrant, equitable, and globally respected Asian tea sector, where high-quality tea is produced sustainably, valued fairly, and consumed widely.
To expand market opportunities and plant the seeds for growth in untapped regions.
To champion social, economic and environmental sustainability across the tea value chain.
To foster innovation in quality, production and trade that benefits all stakeholders.
To support smallholders and growers to share fully in the value of the tea economy.
Tapping new consumption regions to absorb surplus supply and bring growth to tea producers.
Promoting regenerative agriculture, reducing the carbon footprint, and ensuring resilience.
Facilitating technology and knowledge exchange to elevate tea quality and strengthen branding.
Ensuring the benefits of the tea trade reach all participants, especially small growers and workers.
The producers of tea across the world have faced multiple challenges for decades. We launched our Manifesto to declare our shared commitments.
